Forest Garden Hotel,Xianyang.
This project involved the development of a luxury 600 rooms five star hotel with apartments and corporate offices- the SCL International Centre - which contains offices, commercial complex and hotel accommodation.
The five star Hotel contains 600 guest rooms and opulent facilities including a grand ballroom, junior ballrooms, shops, banquet halls, conference rooms, swimming pools, a health spa and a variety of restaurants. The Apartment Suites are for long-terms guests.
The area for hotel and commercial is 39,900 m2, situated within the natural Fenghe Forest Garden (33 acres), it commands spectacular view of the Wei River and Feng River.
With a project value of USD $ 230 million and covering a total gross floor area of 133,000 m2 for the five star hotel and commercial/residential complex, this landmark development is a major contribution to the growth of contemporary Xianyang. Located along the Century Boulevard, Feng River and junction of major road system between Xian city and Xianyang and a short distance from two main rail system, the project combines first class commercial space which also includes a 600-room five-star Grand Hotel, service apartments and a major wellness centre. Two groups of buildings, ranging from 15 to 30 storeys, are arranged around raised platform overlooking the huge Forest Garden Park and scenic view of Wei River and Feng River.
Our role
DK provided administration of prime cost contract including cost planning, cost control, contract and tender administration. We are responsible for the full package of FF&E.
Client benefits
Given the scope of the project, the client's key requirement was for a fast track contract with cost effective development.DK will be able to fulfil these challenging requirements within budget and timescale.
Owing to fast track construction, DK offered a team of international architects, engineers, resident quantity surveyors working on-site. We provided full architectural services, civil and structural engineers, quantity surveying services from inception to completion.
This scheme presented challenges to the team based on its size, the number of buildings involved and the mixed use elements. The overall scheme of hotel combines square and circular building elements which are differentiated in white granite and reflective glass, applying a contemporary interpretation of classical Chinese motifs. Forest Garden Hotel is based on a rectangular plan which reinforces the traditional city grid with one wing of the hotel parallel to Century Boulevard forming an exact 128 degree shift to create new major axes of the scheme.
